In each of our dance workshops, dancers will get instruction and learn a combination from a specialist(s) in that genre. In Ballet, Modern/Contemporary and Lyrical workshops, dancers will get a ballet warm-up together before breaking into skill-level groups to get instruction and learn combinations. Create an adorable hedgehog to hold your favorite drawing tools! For all one-day clay workshops, projects will not be painted in class. Your artwork will be given a coat of clear glaze and fired in Woodlawn’s kiln after the workshop has ended, and you will receive an email when it is ready for pickup. Images are representations of the projects to be made and may not be the exact project created in class. Clay workshops are meant for beginner learning experiences, and projects do not always turn out as expected.
Learn new skills and work on your own projects in 2D, 3D or both during this open studio experience. Choose the room you want to work in each class period, or switch between rooms during each two-hour session. Open Studio allows for student-led projects. Tuition covers all five sessions, but attendance at all five is not required. Open Pottery Studio: Continue practicing pottery techniques in this class where projects are chosen and led by students. Our instructor will be on hand to give suggestions and support as needed. Participants will receive 10 pounds of clay; additional clay may be purchased
Learn all the basics of animation! Make your own storyline, draw characters (or find images online that you want to use), add voiceovers and special effects, and create your animated movie from start to finish. You’ll learn how to use effective storytelling, frame-by-frame animation and keyframes.
