Woodlawn Arts Academy’s culinary programs get students in the kitchen to teach them the joy of cooking and baking. Learn the basics while experiencing new and different flavors. Most of our culinary programs are held off-site, with special thanks to our partners at The Kitchen Incubator of Northwest Illinois and Whiteside Area Career Center.

Master Chef Junior Workshop

Are you a junior master chef or do you want to learn how to be one? This workshop immerses young chefs in a world of culinary creativity and discovery. Participants should come with hair back, short-sleeved shirts and closed-toe shoes.

Farm Camp

Enjoy a unique, fun-filled week discovering agriculture through fun, interactive and educational activities. Kids will be outdoors, off-screen and experience real-life farms. Learn how the farmers and nature work together to grow crops and raise animals. This hands-on program includes a variety of activities, games, crafts and field trips to local farms that will teach the campers about farm life. Presented by Whiteside County Farm Bureau.

Mini Chef Camp

Learn safety, sanitation, cooking and baking methods in this camp that makes food even more fun than eating it already is. Students will get hands-on experience and get to taste their creations! Participants should come with hair back and closed-toe shoes.

Floral & Edible Gardening

Bring the whole family to get messy in the dirt and learn some basic gardening. The best part is these plants are edible so you won’t have to struggle with keeping the garden out of their little mouths. Sponsored by Palmyra Greenhouse.
