Woodlawn Dance Academy is an established dance studio that is proud to serve the Sauk Valley area. Our goal is to offer quality programs while creating an environment for positive learning and, most of all, FUN! 4th-8th grades

Summer Theatre Intensive: Disney ‘Newsies Jr.’

Answer the call & don’t delay! You can star in “Newsies Jr.” as part of our Summer Theatre Intensive! Everyone who registers will be a part of the production and will audition to determine specific roles. Students should bring a snack and water each day. Auditions: 8:30am-12:30pm Sat, 5/14/22 at Woodlawn Rehearsals: 8:30am-12:30pm Mon-Fri, 6/6/22-6/17/22 at Woodlawn Arts Academy in the J. Mark Beaty Performance Center Tech Week: 8:30am-12:30pm Mon-Fri, 6/20/22-6/24/22 at Sauk Valley Community College Performances: Friday, June 24, 2022 at 7pm; Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2pm & 7pm; Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 2pm in the Mathis

Animal Planet

Encourage your child to keep their childhood joy and wonder of animals alive! Using drama, art, music and dance, we will investigate domestic and wild animals.

Around the Campfire

Spend your week in the great outdoors! Pitch tents, make s’mores, sing campfire songs and play outdoor games. Drama, visual art, music, dance and science experiences will be included!

ages 6 & Up

Summer Dance Camp

This camp is a six-day experience for serious dancers ages 6 and up. Every day students will have an intense warm-up and strengthening course, followed by skill work including leaps, turns and progressions. After that, a specific genre will be studied, including a combination (short routine). Tuesdays will have a focus of tap, Wednesdays will have a focus of jazz and Thursdays will have a focus of lyrical and contemporary. Fridays are an optional open studio time for dancers to come in on their own to practice combinations or skill work from 1-4pm. An instructor will be available for consultation.

Success Mindset

Want to learn to focus on your own goals and not compare yourself to others? Want the confidence to be the best dancer YOU can be? Serious dancers only: Join us for this 3-day workshop to enhance your mindset on your own goals and success, both at dance and in life.

Dollie Dance

Bring your favorite doll to join you as we dance the hour away! Stretch your muscles, play act and do creative movement while learning some basic dance steps.
