Focus on nothing else … is such a blessing

Woodlawn Arts Academy has been a constant in our girls’ lives. Through the losses of their grandmothers and other trials that life brings, being able for them to come here and dance and to not focus on nothing else but dance is such a blessing for them. One of our girls has branched off of dance and on to guitar. She is thriving! Thank you for the helping hand in bringing some stability in such a crazy time in life! Also, in helping to give them the confidence they need! Trista G. 2020

Will help her be able to engage with kids her age

We greatly appreciate everything Woodlawn has done to help our daughter improve and enhance her development and balance issues due to her hearing loss. She is going to strongly rely on services/programs thru Woodlawn this year due to her health issues and COVID. We do not want her to feel isolated being she will be homeschooled for 3 rd grade. And with the programs offered and a chance to qualify for financial assistance this will help her be able to engage with kids her age and enjoy other art/music/dance classes offered. Amber H. 2020

The foundation to explore and grow her artistic skills

Olivia’s recommendation into the Woodlawn A.R.T.S. program her 8th grade year gave her the foundation to explore and grow her artistic skills. Now a high school senior, Olivia was awarded a $30,000 scholarship from Ringling College of Art and Design where she will major in illustration and minor in business art. She will have the opportunity to work with Disney’s Animation Studio, DreamWorks, Pixar, Sony Production and ESPN. Olivia was able to find herself with the help of the A.R.T.S. program and has an amazing career ahead of her, thanks to Woodlawn Arts Academy! Gracie M. 2015

His love of music and theatre has grown so much

The financial assistance program has helped our family tremendously. It has allowed our family extracurricular programs that we wouldn’t be able to afford. Being a single mother and only being able to work part-time puts a hinder on income and the financial assistance program definitely help us enroll my son into all of the classes that he loves. My son has ADHD and sensory issues, and going to Woodlawn programs has greatly helped reduce his anxiety. All of the staff and other children are so kind and welcoming to him. He has become so much more social and outgoing since

Thanks for offering these excellent … opportunities

I wanted to share with Woodlawn about some classes Ava took and used those projects as 4-H fair projects in the Lee County 4-H Fair.   Ava has taken a variety of clay classes at Woodlawn and enjoys them. She entered 2 clay pieces in the fair, won blue ribbons on both and won a red ribbon for Junior Show.   She has taken theatre, voice lessons and a theatre makeup class and entered a project summarizing her theatre experience for the 4-H year (fall 2020 to summer 2021). She created a poster with photos and details of her year in theatre. She won

[Woodlawn] assists in making dreams come true

My name is Emma Watts, a student in the WACC CEO West Campus. CEO is an entrepreneurial class, and at the end of the year we host a trade show at Northland Mall to showcase our businesses. I will be attending with my jewelry business, Drøm. Drøm stands for Dream in Norwegian, and I would like to donate to a certain percentage of my proceeds to an organization that assists in making dreams come true, and Woodlawn was my first choice! I took an acting camp years ago through Woodlawn and because of that camp, I’m majoring in theatre in college
